Mediation

Mediation is a private, confidential, and voluntary process whereby a neutral third party (the Mediator) assists people in conflict in settling  the issues between them without having to go through the lengthy and often costly court process. Typically the parties are ordered by the Court to attempt to mediate their differences before scheduling a final hearing.  By fully engaging in the process, parties retain control and are often able to identify creative and flexible solutions, which would not be available to them through the courts. The mediated settlement agreement is then incorporated into a court order. Mediation is a very effective, collaborative mode, to work with families to resolve their issues, in many cases after a divorce is final. The process emphasizes the needs of the child, family empowerment, and cooperation between families and stepfamilies. The Mediation process has among its foundation the principles of transparency, mutual respect and voluntariness.

Table for 6 Low Impact Mediation

I now offer spouses the opportunity to resolve their marriage issues amicably in a restaurant setting. To achieve a fully mediated agreement it is essential that the parties are wishing to avoid the notoriety which sometimes accompanies litigated divorces. If you and your spouse wish to settle all matters between you in a comfortable setting, contact me and we will discuss the particulars.

Experience You Can Rely On

I earned a Certification by the Florida Bar as a Family Mediator in 1998 and have mediated many family law cases since. I welcome low impact family law cases where the parties have little to no interest in litigation and the attendant angst and attorney fees that unfortunately arise but instead wish to resolve their issues without unnecessary fanfare. We are able to Mediate through Zoom and after the Covid-19, in person.
